How it works

Every episode gets its own numbered .srt file. Subtitle times are moved so each file starts at 00:00:00, ready to use with the matching video clip.

FAQ

How do I find where to cut?

Open your video in a player or editor and note the time where each episode ends. Enter those times in the "At specific times" box. If every episode has the same length, use "Every N minutes" instead.

What happens to a subtitle that crosses a cut?

By default it is split in two at the cut, so each episode shows only its own part. You can also choose to keep it whole in the first episode.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser, so your subtitle files stay on your device.

Can I split WebVTT or ASS files?

Only SRT files are supported at the moment. Convert other formats to SRT first.

What is the start delay for?

If every episode begins with a recap, intro or title card, enter its length in seconds. All subtitles in each file are shifted by that amount so they stay in sync.

Why do some characters look broken?

The tool reads files as UTF-8. If your subtitles use another encoding, re-save the file as UTF-8 in a text editor and load it again.
